Edouard NOULET 1873+1946

Noulet Édouard [Hautrage, 1873–Berchem-Sainte-Agathe, 1946] A painter, Édouard Noulet trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Mons, where he studied under Antoine Bourlard and Auguste Danse (1890–1892). He produced portraits, still lifes, and animal figures, as well as large religious compositions for churches in the region, such as Saint Thérèse of Lisieux with the Virgin (undated) for the Saint-Joseph church in Bracquegnies. He was close to the Mons sculptor Léon Gobert. In 1895 and 1898, he participated in the preparatory competition for the Prix de Rome. He exhibited at the Mons Salon in 1896 and at the Autumn Exhibition of Walloon Artists in 1913.
