Biography
Jacques Deveau is a French post-impressionist Parisian painter, who died in October 2022 at the age of 85. His work was dedicated to depicting Parisian life as well as leisure life, particularly on the beaches of the Côte Fleurie (Deauville, Trouville, etc.). His works often depict beautiful ladies and children playing on the sand. His rich impasto technique and use of light and color capture scenes of quiet beauty and joie de vivre. Also prized for his scenes of Paris, such as those of the Grands Boulevards, he was able to evoke through his compositions the spirit of the ancient Masters, while continuing to depict a more modern society. There is the work of the painter, who has been represented by many leading galleries and whose works appear in private collections around the world.
